MEET JESSICA EKBERG OTR/L Hi I’m Jessica, an occupational therapist with over 22 years experience treating clients of all ages, genders with a multitude of diagnoses. I have experienced treating clients in several settings all over the country while working many years as a traveling therapist. Through my training and experiences both personal and professional I have developed the skills needed to assess and develop appropriate and effective treatment plans to fit each client based on their individual needs. I began my journey in pelvic health 3 years ago after having my own pelvic floor dysfunction (although I had no idea this was my issue at the time). I was introduced to pelvic floor therapy by a friend and that was it, I began working hard to learn all I could about this mysterious “pelvic floor.” I know what it feels like to be incontinent, have prolapse, have chronic low back pain, plantar fasciitis, not be able to do all the things I love or need to do because something in my body was not working efficiently. I have worked hard to overcome all of the “issues” in my body and am happy to say I’m able to participate in everything I love while managing or no longer having to battle with dysfunction. I have always loved the body and its amazing ability to adapt, heal, and compensate so we can do the things we need to do every day. We often shy away from talking about the bodily functions associated with pelvic health, which has left many people feeling like they are alone and suffering in silence.⁣ I know how valuable good health is for quality of life, and my goal is to help you achieve this to allow for a return to optimal functioning as quickly as possible. If you think Pelvic Floor Therapy may be something that can help you please reach out and we can talk further about what’s going on in your body to see if this may be the right option for you.
